It’s time once again for the Impossible Players’ annual 10 in 10 fundraiser! In this 10-day tournament, teams of actors, writers, and directors clamor and compete to put together a ten-minute play that matches the theme, includes the assigned curveballs, and generally shows off their talents.

But this year, we’re completely mixing it up!

10 minutes? Try one minute. And a stage play? What is this, the regular season? No, we’re taking this show on the road. And by road, we mean the Metaverse.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Sign up! Use the attached Google form to sign up for a spot in the competition. Your “team captain” is sort of like your director and will serve as the main liaison with our team of volunteers, so make sure to include a good email. While you can participate on many teams, you can only be the team captain for one. So, choose wisely!

Step 2: Create! On June 9, we will announce this year’s theme and give each team a whammy they must include in their video. Then, the race is on! Put together a social media video between 15 seconds and 1 minute in length. You can be as elaborate or as simple as you desire, as long as you address the theme and include your whammy.

And don’t feel limited to scripted scenes! Maybe you’d rather explore the theme through a song, a dance, a poem, or any other creative outlet. The sky’s the limit! Just make sure to keep it PG.

Step 3: Submit! Before 11:59 PM on June 19, upload your video to the Dropbox link provided after registration. Be sure to name your file with your team captain’s name so we can credit the right team!

Step 4: Vote! On June 20, the voting opens! All the videos will be uploaded to our Facebook profile. We will also be periodically sharing the videos to help reach a wider audience, but you are welcome to share it yourselves too! Each like counts as a vote. Want more votes? We will have monetary votes available for purchase on our website. There will be two different winners: the most Facebook likes and the most overall votes.
